Maras - Moray - Salineras

This trip combines beautiful colonial towns with spectacular Inca sites

DURATION:  8:00 am  to 2:00 pm approx.

ITINERARY :  We will pick you up from your hotel at 8.00am and drive for 1 hour in our comfortable bus to Maras

MARAS: Located to the west of the Cusco this town has many beautiful examples of colonial architecture hidden in its quiet streets. We will also have spectacular views across to the Vilcanota range of mountains.

MORAY:  We then drive another 15 minutes to this unique site. Natural depressions have been terraced by the Incas and used to make a kind of experimental greenhouse. The temperature gradient thus created was used to ascertain what type of crops could grow in different locations.

SALINERAS: or “salt mines” The natural salt in the rocks is filtered out by the use of small salt pans and allowed to dry. These ancient salt mines provide much of the cooking salt for the
